Buku itu…

…Fix your broken heart,  slap you in the face, or dry the sweat from your armpit (I know, I know… there should be a lot better analogy). Rasanya ingin berbagi sensasi itu kepada diri sendiri dan pihak lain yang bersedia ikut terkena imbasnya. But, alas, I don’t own The Mighty Time and those little fingers are too lazy to struck on the keyboard.

My beloved books…

Things keep me sane

I am totally easily get bored, so I have those things to keep me sane when I’m on the verge of getting suffocated or saturated by the situation or just anything. They are:

1. Great books, and I mean it, not one book, but books. When I get a hint of boredom approaching me, I grab any of those books scattered on my table or on the shelves. Read one… when I get another hint of another boredom when reading the book, I grab another one and so on until those hints eventually subside.

2. Weekends! My motto “This day will pass away!” keeps reminding me that weekends will come eventually, days to stay idle hehe…

3. Daydreaming. Wondering what ifs… What if I had a 100 billion rupiahs at the moment, What if my new car was suddenly exchanged by someone and it became a Europe Modern Luxury Car… What if I could fly… What if.. What if…

4. … (I’m getting bored writing this… I should stop now, I’ll get back later)

Geez… Thought it was easy

Really, I mean… after That Day, I thought I could put my mind at ease, the only things I thought have to be taken into deep consideration was me, D, and our little family. It turns out the other away around. Bukannya istirahat nih kepala, yang ada tambah banyak aja isinya. Untung aja itu tesis-tesis-an udah selesai! setengah gila ngurusin tesis sambil ngurusin Hari Itu.

Anyway… it is hard to live life as a grown up. Is it just me or… Oh well.

At first we were so excited to have such amount of savings, we planned things, the postponed honeymoon, a little new year’s eve celebration, etc… etc… but now… all that savings are dripping out, those plans are constantly being erased from our “to-do” lists.Money become more and more in power within our (my) life.

We, I, should find another way to make money. It’s not easy, is it?  I mean, nowadays… For me, there are these barriers that are limiting my choices so I have to find really hard, geez.

Ever heard of freelance writer? It sounds interesting, you could do your work remotely, at any time convenient to you, as long as you fulfill some (usually not so hard to be fulfilled) requirements. Many sites provide those kind of jobs, i.e. Helium, Suit101, Shvoong, and many others. I know many people are already participated in such job, but, hey, perhaps it’s just never to late to start something new. So, I try it out at Shvoong, haven’t earn any money from it yet, but at least I try, besides, all you have to do is write, rite?  :)

Help me to improve my writings, would you… anyone? give comments, feedback, or whatever… It would be so much help for me. Thanks in advance to you :)

Memnoch The Devil

This is about another book. Memnoch The Devil is by Anne Rice, The 5th book from the Vampire Chronicle Series. Why do I write the 5th book first instead of the 1st book? well, it’s basically because I just finished reading it, and however, I don’t have the 1st and 2nd book. :p

This book is just splendid! It could evoke something inside you, evoke things you used to believe. I’m talking about what so called God and The Devil. When we put aside “The Religion Affair” in this matter, the book could give another new perspective about why there’s such thing as God in Heaven and The Devil in Hell. It’s no longer about being an evildoer or the other, it’s beyond that, yet, more simple. Heaven and Hell are about Love. Interesting, eh?

Memnoch was The Devil. He lured Lestat, The Brave One, to be his adversary. Lestat was taken to have a journey to Hell and then to Heaven, and then through Time. It’s all because God and Memnoch had this little argument about who should enter Heaven and who should stay far away from it. By the end of the book, Lestat -or is it us?- had to chose, whether to help God or Memnoch, for whatever they both have in purpose. Trust me, it’s so beautifully told by Rice, this whole thing about beliefs, and love, and all.

Just read it… please.

Kafka On The Shore

The honor to be the first book on our bookshelf is: Kafka On The Shore by Haruki Murakami. The book is about something beyond something, really. Kafka is the boy in the book. He could time travel, meet unusual creature that do never-ordinary things that cause extraordinary somethings. The Famous Johnie-Walker with his new occupation, “The Cat Killer”, and other characters that would bring suprises everytime you turn the pages -it may sounds like I’m a well-paid-book reviewer, but really… I kept turning the pages with a jolt of curiosity even after I read it again and again-.

err… I should read it again.. oh well…

Books… Oh… Books

Oh d**n! I am writing here again! I did try to pull back, but the urge was too huge -ahaha alasan!- anyway, I like books -I was so tempted to write “love” instead of “like” but I guess it sounds too much- so, again, I like books. A best way to run from the harsh worlds, better words than the world offers, so yeah… books are great.

I already had a place to write about books that I have read it is at Goodreads. But unfortunately… I forgot my userid and the password. So maybe I just start all over again. Besides, this is such a place to put everything of my concern, right?

So, enough for the prologue, I just wish these stack of books would do some good for you.
